The Book Club Invitational World Championship II
After the success of the inaugural season of the BCIWC it is with great pleasure that I, your faithful dictat... founder, announce the beginning of season II.
This season we're bigger and slicker with the season length being halved and the number of contenders doubling.
Thursday, 27th March, the 12 gladiators will be welcomed back to QV, their spiritual home, to once again lock horns. Will Wee Dave being able to fly under the radar a la season one? Will the Midfield Maestro capitulate in as dramatic a fashion as Arsenal's attempt at some silverware? Will it be a new invitee? The unknown dark horses...
What is it going to take to have the coveted trophy sitting on your dining table come the end of the gruelling finals season? Only one man really knows....
Gentlemen... It's time...
As the leaves continue to wilt and fall; dreams are blossoming in the winter chill. After months of dreaming and weeks of scheming we find ourselves on the cusp of something great.
Gentlemen, despite what the Germans thought 80 odd years ago, books are something special and not just a source of heat. While our midfield maestro will forever claim that if it's not on DVD then it's not worth it; I for one love them. Anything that gives 6 legendary men a leave pass is okay in my books.
So, it is with great pleasure that you are all welcomed to the website of The Book Club Invitational World Championship. Over 25 greulling games we will sort out the men from the Scots. This site will provide you with (somewhat) up-to-date information on what promises to be the most entertaining sporting competition known to man.
